First Arrival for 2026
We are proud to present our first foal of the 2026 foaling season. We’re still searching for the perfect name for this handsome boy (Proud James x Sir Gregory x Roemer), who was born on Memorial Day. He will be gray and has two white hind socks and a star!! He’s shown here with his dam Sophie RSF at 24 hours.

Melissa got a special mother’s day gift this morning! We’ve been trying for years to get a Secret foal and for one reason or another it just never worked out. We’ve named this handsome boy Stone (Secret x Sir Gregory x Roemer). Shown here at 3 hours waiting on mom to get cleaned up. We’ll be posting more pictures and video soon. We’ve Moved!!

We have moved from North Texas to our 34 acres of paradise in rural Hill County. Located 4 miles West of Hubbard Texas, we’ve got tons of room to grow with 20 acres of pasture land on the bottom section waiting to be cleared of mesquite trees. The upper 14 acres will be used for paddocks, the barn and house. The sunsets are to die for!
Rule RSF (Spörcken x Roemer)

We are proud to announce the final foal of the year! Rule is out of our Roemer mare O’ Baby, aka Penny. This is Penny’s final foal and she is officially retired at age 25. We welcomed our third foal of the year today. Revolver (Gaudi x Wolkentanz II x Freestyle) was delivered successfully by Jeselle RSF. This is Jeselle’s third foal and she is proving to be an excellent mare. Revolver is the sweetest! So far…. And, he’s sold!

We welcomed our second foal of the year today. Raine (Kjento x Sir Gregory x Roemer) was delivered successfully by Sophie RSF. This is Sophie’s first foal and she is proving to be an excellent mare. Raine is curious and very strong!

Winter has arrived in Texas!

Ah that Texas weather. One week it’s 80 degrees and the next there is an artic blast with sub-zero temperatures. But, Joie Adeline (Morricone x Freestyle x Cicero) couldn’t care less.
New foals will be arriving shortly so stay tuned for updates. First up will be Eleanor RSF with her Romanov foal followed by Sophie RSF’s foal by the up and coming KWPN stallion Kjento. Both should be phenomenal and we are excited to see if they are colts or fillies. These two are no longer offered in utero but we do have a great line-up for 2021.

Second Foal of 2019 ~ Julianna RSF (Vitalis x Freestyle)

Julianna is the sweetest foal we’ve had yet. When I went out to check on Grace, she was already standing and spotted me. Instantly she headed over to greet me! To this day, she still loves to meet and greet everyone!
Julianna’s sire, Vitalis, is regarded as one of the best progenitors of dressage horses in the world. Vitalis was Reserve Champion at his licensing in Westphalia, in 2009, thus becoming the first licensed son of Vivaldi. As a foal in Holland, Vitalis won the Dutch Foal Championships.
Vitalis is already ranked No. 16 on the German dressage index with an index of 157, based on only 2 foal crops!
First Foal of 2019 ~ Orion RSF (Gaudi x Roemer)

Orion was born just before midnight during a Texas sized thunderstorm. Both Orion and Penny are doing well! Orion’s sire is Scot Tolman’s KWPN stallion Gaudi.
GAUDI is the first and only Totilas offspring standing in the USA. Imported in January 2018 by Shooting Star Farm, his dam is the elite preferent prestation mare Annabel, by De Niro. Bred by the Jansen family at Stable Joppe in The Netherlands, Gaudi has an exceptional pedigree. His dam also produced the KWPN licensed stallions Bretton Woods and Chagall D&R, and from these same dam line comes the licensed stallion Four Legends KS. Annabel leads the KWPN index for dressage mares. She has produced top sport and keuring horses.

Once again, Rio Star Farm hosted approvals for the 2018 year. We presented 6 foals, 2 of which were presented with premium status. Thanks to Sebastian from the GOV and the volunteers that assisted with this years inspection.

Saratoga Ronnie was sold to Mark Davenport of 224 Thoroughbreds LLC in March 2018. Mark was excited to get the highly sought after bloodlines of her sire, Lawyer Ron, for his Thoroughbred stallion Revolver. Ronnie has produced two GOV approved foals, one of which was produced by Rio Star Farm. Saharah RSF can be seen here!
